About Us

MTR Crafters is a project about recreating the entire Hong Kong MTR (Mass Transit Railway) system in the Minecraft game. Our community was established on 15 September 2021 and was created by many Minecraft and transit enthusiasts.

We are building the entire Hong Kong MTR system on a 1:1 scale, including all 98 stations and 10 lines. We are also building the entire Light Rail system operated by the MTR in the New Territories, which has its own 68 stops and 12 routes. When finished, there will be a total of more than 200 km of track!

Not only are we building every station and line of the MTR system, but we also want to make them look realistic. Thanks to the MTR (Minecraft Transit Railway) Mod, we are able to achieve this goal that was previously impossible with Vanilla Minecraft alone. The MTR Mod adds realistic-looking and functional trains and railway facilities such as platform screen doors, automatic platform gates, escalators, lifts, and other miscellaneous things like MTR signage, fare gates, ticket machines and more to Minecraft. It also includes a sophisticated signalling system for making train schedules. With all these features, we are able to recreate the entire MTR system realistically.

MTR Crafters is going to be an ongoing project. As new railway sections open in the MTR network in real life, we will continue to build new stations and lines. The MTR is one of the best railway systems in the world. We believe that by making a realistic replica of the MTR system in a game, we can let more people know about our MTR system. We also hope that we can bring meaningful gaming experiences to players and contribute to the transit and gaming communities.

So far, we have made impressive construction progress on major lines, such as the Tuen Ma Line, Island Line and South Island Line, as well as the Light Rail. We look forward to welcoming you to our community to build with us or just experience riding the MTR in Minecraft!

Realistic Stations

We are building the stations as realistically as possible by paying attention to every little detail.

1:1 Scale

We are recreating everything on a 1:1 scale, so there is no down-scaling of any kind!
